Ghosts, Power Portals, and Big Rocks in England- An Accidental Psychic Tourist

img_5536I’m an American psychic. When I turn on my abilities I see things… ghosts, angels, and people’s souls.  However, I spend most days doing regular things, working, raising the last child who hasn’t left the nest, and being married.  Sometimes life’s so regular, I forget I’m an intuitive.  I don’t know how I went into a psychic coma before a recent trip to England, but I confess, I did.  While I packed food, clothing, and my fabulous meditation apps,  I was ill-prepared for Europe’s occult tourism. I was an American psychic in London.   And there, my psychic ass was handed to me on a silver platter within a week of visiting England. Thousands of years of tyranny don’t just evaporate.  Many died a long, long time ago, under horrific medieval circumstances and still can’t find a way back to the light. Can you imagine being earthbound for that long? In a cold creepy castle?

Ghosts in America? Amateurs. Ghost in Great Britain? True professionals.

Such is the case at Warwick Castle. It’s home to a cheery parade of events such as incarcerations, untimely deaths, and channeling by Occultist Aleister Crowley.

Here is a blurb from The Guardian.

“As well as four periods as a crown property under seven monarchs, there have been 30-plus owners of the castle: at least three died in battle, two were executed and one murdered.”

What they don’t mention was that the owner was mortally wounded by a servant, in the castle, who then killed himself. And that left the owner to slowly die by himself in a tower. Yep, that owner’s still there. And boy, is he pissed.

And don’t even get me started about the dungeon or the ghost dog. It’s a fascinating place alright. My son liimg_5620ked it, but my husband and I seemed to absorb a lot of the negativity after our visit.  I felt angry.  I felt claustrophobic.  I felt THEM!  I finally had the bright idea to clear all of us with sage spray. My bad, you see I was attempting a be a regular tourist, when in fact I am a psychic one.

But Lorraine, you say, don’t you pray and meditate and work with your angels?  Why yes,  but I also get my own brand of tunnel vision.  I wanted to play tourist the old fashion way, as a muggle.  But these ghosties weren’t having it. You see, while one sometimes wants to be in denial about one’s psychic nature, the other side knows the truth.  Oh, that’s right, I even wrote a book about it-  Dead people see me!

Another point  of interest and irritation was that The Earl of Warwick oversaw the speedy trial and execution of Joan of Arc. You know, the woman who dressed like a man and listened to the voice of God, two great crimes.  There’s a room in a tower of the castle which has a replica of her confession platform. She confessed and later recanted, but too late. Her ashes were thrown into a river while the Earl lies entombed in a nearby church. My feeling there was one of a deep sadness and resentment that a woman having visions was put to death.  No wonder I like to forget I’m psychic!

In terms of haunting, some of the century -old hotels have American motels beat by a mile. We stayed in one very old hotel that offered new antique -looking bears for sale. They were in every room. My husband immediately took the bear off the bed and threw it on the floor. My 12 year old tried to cuddle with it- then also tossed it, saying, “I bet it’s haunted.”

And yes at this point I was starting to get with the psychic program. I saged, took a sea salt bath and cleared my family. But, these are old energies that have a lot of history behind them. They linger.

In other “I forgot I’m psychic” news, I also could have cared less about visiting Stonehenge.  That’s suspicious, because what intuitive person wouldn’t want to go?  At least for a little peaksie?  It was my husband who basically dragged us there. Ha!  Perhaps I was a bit afraid of a possible power up?  Hmmmm.

When we finally did get there, I determined in the car that I would stay awake for my psychic self.  I arrived ready to receive images and energy from the stone temple.

Here’s the official description of Stonehenge:

“Stonehenge is perhaps the world’s most famous prehistoric monument. It was built in several stages: the first monument was an early henge monument, built about 5,000 years ago, and the unique stone circle was erected in the late Neolithic period about 2500 BC. In the early Bronze Age many burial mounds were built nearby. Today, along with Avebury, it forms the heart of a World Heritage Site, with a unique concentration of prehistoric monuments.”

People asked me my impressions as an intuitive. First, it’s a controlled tourist attraction now, which honestly doesn’t warm one’s heart. Visitors are only allowed inside the stone circle by special request. But it still has massive energetic ripples. I felt a pulsing energy coming out from the stone henge (circle). I believe the energetic properties of a location can also be absorbed by eating food and drink at the location.  Best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time, Stonehenge coffee.  My family was very upbeat after the visit.

img_7265It was seven days into the trip that I actually seemed to come out of my muggle coma and go full wizard.  That’s when my body’s intuition insisted we go to Avebury Henge.

This was a true gem. It’s even older than Stonehenge and much more accessible.

Here’s the description:

Avebury henge and stone circles are one of the greatest marvels of prehistoric Britain. Built and much altered during the Neolithic period, roughly between 2850 BC and 2200 BC, the henge survives as a huge circular bank and ditch, encircling an area that includes part of Avebury village. Within the henge is the largest stone circle in Britain – originally of about 100 stones – which in turn encloses two smaller stone circles.

Avebury Henge is a homey Henge that gently empowers one with a combination of earth and celestial energies. I gave the energies my permission to approach. While standing near the stones and closing my eyes I felt the energies roll to my feet and come through my body and out the top on my crown chakra.  It was gentle, powerful, and very loving.

Avebury Henge is on the St. Michael ley line. It’s said to be a very strong energetic line that crosses England. A local author there believes that there is a new ley line emerging in the area with even more of a jolt! One that carries feminine energy.

As we know, when you go to power places you power up. Side effects include feeling energized, exhausted, more sensitive, and spaced out…check, check, check and check.

img_5855On a final energetic upbeat note we ended our trip by seeing a psychic friend of mine. She’s part of our online group Psychic Housewives. We all went to Les Miserables in London. It was a fantastic production, a lovely evening and a huge blast of positivity. The London production is the longest running version of Les Mis and this is where history lends itself to art. It was fantastic.

Thirty years ago I traveled here to England and it was basically a pub crawl. Whole swaths of the trip are gone to me, lost in a memory hole.  Looking back I was probably a sensitive person looking to shield myself from strong forces. Three plus decades later I returned clean, sober, and psychic.  But it took me almost a week to remember I was indeed psychic. Thanks dead guy in the castle dungeon.
I spent part of the trip trying to be a “normal” tourist.  Then I remembered, I’m highly sensitive and psychic and grateful. Not to souimg_6230nd trite, but knowing I’m feeling other’s feelings and sensing unseen energies keeps me centered. I’m a relatively new psychic. Meaning the abilities came to me later in life or at the very least,  I acknowledged them later in life.  But I should know enough now to remember that people (living and dead) and locations carry a vibration and that it’s important to plan and prepare when playing tourist in ancient places.  Lesson learned. Thanks haunted bear in the hotel.

I’ve spent thirteen years reconciling being psychic and human. I’m so new at it that I actually went to Europe without considering the energetic consequences both good and bad. But the beautiful part is that I know for a fact that the unseen is real. And that when I stay awake for it, I’m better prepared to deal with the reality of it. Plus, when you are a psychic tourist, there’s a lot more to see!

Now that I’m back, I’m going to visit a historical building in Los Angeles which is almost fifty years old!  Here the ghosts are young, gregarious, and frankly somewhat immature. Whew, it’s good to be home.

Blessings, Lorraine
