Deep In The Heart

It holds to bars

Peering out

Darkness interned

Will not release

 Stubborn refusal

Insists on being messenger

eeking out existence

In tiny cell

robust humming beating

360 degrees in every direction

love snuck in

allowed to stay

except the corner cell

a prisoner remains

in solitary confinement

dark, persistent, unfed, unkempt,

showing always how bright love doth shine

by it’s darkness untouched

coal black chamber in the heart

prisoner #129
